Hello again. If you go to Kluge REFERENCES [1] and then click on one you will find old classifications . For instance Latreille, 1829 [2] or and Stephens, 1829 [3]. There are all important examples.Notafly (talk) 08:43, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
Copyright status: File:Gräberfeld Sopron 03.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading File:Gräberfeld Sopron 03.JPG. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |
Vipera berus / Vipera aspis edit
Hi Siga,
I would like to inform you that this snake is more likely a Vipera aspis than a Vipera berus. We can differentiate the two species by the form of the snout. Moreover, basically, Vipera aspis lives in the South of France whereas Vipera berus lives in the North. Good continuation , Goodshort (talk) 09:42, 20 August 2013 (UTC) PS : on this page, you listed this lizard as Zootoca vivipara whereas it is a Lacerta agilis (but the correction has been made two years ago)
Gnorimus nobilis edit
Hi Siga, Thanks for adding these brilliant photographs. I am writing a small (not for profit) article for a little local magazine called Worcestershire Record (http://www.wbrc.org.uk/WORCRECD/WorcRecd.htm) on Gnorimus nobilis. I would very much like to use your comparative photos of the male and female ends of abdomen and metatibia in this article please. I realise that these photographs are covered under a creative commons licence, but I would very much like to cite your work properly with your name. Please get in touch (search Adam Bates Birmingham University).
Many thanks
Adam
Hello Adam, please sign the photos with Siga, Wikimedia Commons. It's a pleasure to be a help. If you don't forget, inform me here when the article is published.

--Siga (talk) 09:49, 26 March 2014 (UTC)

Apoderus coryli or Deporaus betulae ? edit
Hello Siga, Are you sure the leaf on the picture below war rolled by Apoderus coryli. [[4]] I think it's more likely it was Deporaus betulae who was the architect. Porora betulae can also use Hassel as a host. D. Betulae rolls the leaves in cone shape. Apoderus coryli rolls are more cylindrical and more like a real cigar. Your photos in this article are typical of Apoderus coryli: [[5]].If you search the web you for Deporaus betulae + hazel you will find quite a few pictures Ar.G — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ar.g (talk • contribs) 06:36, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks, I am shure I made a mistake and you are right. On Apoderus coryli there are many pictures, showing the manufacturing of the leaf-cigar, made by myself. I don't remember exactly, the series of the rolling of the leaf dates on 2010, the wrong picture is made 2009. So I guess I was deceived of the presence of Apoderus coryli in the earlier photo. I will make the necessary changes at once. --Siga (talk) 07:33, 15 June 2017 (UTC)

Dictyoptera aurora Greece edit
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Dictyoptera_aurora_Greece.jpg
could this be Benibotarus taygetanus instead? {{unsignedIP2|14:48, 30 June 2018|94.36.77.74}
- Hello, thanks for your comment. I am not a specialist and I never saw series of Dictyoptera aurora nor of Benibotarus taytetanus. I usually just ask in some forum and afterwards follow the answers I get. But egged on your comment, I searched with www and found here a direct comparison. After that I tended for Dictyoptera because of the veins on the elytra and the angle at the tip of elytra. Afterwards I found out here, that the criterion is, if there is a transversal connection on the pronotum or not. With that criterion you seem to be right.
- But before I start the procedure to apply for renaming, I would be very glad if you could say: I know those beetles, it is Benibotarus taygetanus. Greetings, --Siga (talk) 17:11, 30 June 2018 (UTC)

Opatrum sp. edit
Hi,
For me this beetle more looks like Opatrum riparium instead of O. sabulosum based on the three protrusion on the pronotum that are missing on O. sabulosum (take a look on your other pic of the species). https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Opatrum_sabulosum_front.JPG
What do you think about that?

Hello Siga is this Agapanthina cardui? I am still following your wonderful atlas of Coleoptera. Best regardsNotafly (talk) 18:05, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
- Because of the dew it is not clearly (the white rings at the base of antannae-Glieder also being weak), but I would say there is no white border along the elytral sutura, so it won't be cardui. Haselblattroller edit
Hallo Siga
